The areas that you have identified will become the areas to work on in your plan. Remind yourself that you are always a work in progress and can alter your plan anytime you choose. Take each of the areas for improvement and break them down into specific issues that you want to address. For example, under Exercise/Physical Activity - I want to start an exercise program, under Nutrition - eat regular and healthier meals, under HUMOR: laugh more often. Keep in mind that some areas may have both a component to control and to accept. For example, you may want to improve your health by making significant changes, but need to accept the fact that you have a health problem such as asthma.
| If you haven't had a complete physical exam in years, now is the time to make an appointment. Think of getting a checkup as preventative maintenance, the same kind of preventive care you get for your car at regular intervals. |
|
Some good news about making a change in one area of your life is that it may have an effect on another area of your life. It is possible that changes to improve your general health will also improve your asthma. |
